This tour combines the very best of Omani culture and nature into one adventure-packed day. Explore Nizwa’s formidable fortress and fascinating traditional market, walk through the narrow windy streets of mudbrick houses in the old town of Al Hamra, and stand atop the highest mountain in Oman. Go from eating dates, Halwa (a traditional dessert made from dates and spices) and drinking cardamom coffee with charming local people, to staring in awe at Oman’s very own grand canyon.

• Leave Muscat at 8.30 am
• Visit Nizwa Fort, Museum & Souq.
• Visit Al Hamra Old Town.
• Visit Jebel Shams.
• Return to Muscat before 7.00 pm.

If this tour is booked on Friday, visitors can attend the Cattle market in Nizwa (with a departure from Muscat at 6.00 am).

Please note that the climate at Jebel Shams can be very cold. As such, we recommend that you bring warm clothes, as well as comfortable shoes with decent grip, for this trip.
